Questions and answers
How much smaller will my image get?
It depends on the source. Photos straight from a phone often shrink by 60 to 80% with no visible change; images that were already compressed gain less.
Should I choose JPG, PNG or WebP?
JPG for photos, PNG for screenshots, logos and transparency, and WebP for images on a website, where it is typically 25 to 34% smaller than a JPG of similar quality.
Is compressing the same as resizing?
No. Compression keeps the pixel dimensions and stores them more efficiently; resizing reduces the number of pixels. For the smallest files, combine both with the maximum width option.
Does compression remove transparency?
Not with PNG or WebP output, which keep it. Converting to JPG fills transparent areas with white or a color you choose.
Can I compress several images at once?
Yes, on Pro and Team: drop up to 50 files, apply one setting to all of them and download everything in a single ZIP.
