Convert HEIC to JPG

iPhone photos that open everywhere.

iPhones store photos as HEIC to save space, but many websites, Windows apps and print kiosks still refuse the format. Drop your HEIC files and get standard JPGs with the same quality, date and orientation.

How it works

  1. Drop your HEIC file

Select a .heic or .heif photo from your phone, computer or cloud folder, up to 25 MB. Pro and Team convert up to 50 at once.

  2. Pick the format

JPG for maximum compatibility, PNG for a lossless copy, WebP for the web. Choose whether to keep the location data.

  3. Download

Save the converted photo. Batches come as a single ZIP that keeps the original file names.

Why use it

  • Opens everywhere

JPG works in every browser, operating system, photo kiosk and upload form, with no codec or extension to install.

  • Nothing lost on the way

Photos are decoded at full resolution and saved at high quality, so the detail HEIC was holding stays in the JPG.

  • Dates stay in order

The capture date stays in the file, so converted photos still sort correctly in your gallery, your cloud folder and your photo apps.

Questions and answers

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the HEIF image format iPhones have used by default since iOS 11 in 2017. It stores photos in roughly half the space of a JPG of similar quality, but many apps and websites still can’t open it.

Will converting to JPG lower the quality?

JPG is a lossy format, but at the default quality of 92 the difference is not visible. Choose PNG if you need a lossless copy.

Can I stop my iPhone from taking HEIC photos?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible: new photos will be saved as JPG. Photos already taken stay in HEIC.

Is the location of my photos kept?

The capture date and orientation are always kept. GPS location is removed by default; tick “Keep location” if you need it.
